Supernet Launches its C-Band Service

Karachi, June 16, 2011 – Supernet Limited, the leading corporate data network, has expanded its SuperDirect product portfolio with the launch of a C-band service based on a C-band transponder capacity on Chinastar-1 satellite located at the orbital location of 78.5 degrees East.

This service will give a much needed option to corporate customers who require a highly reliable VSAT access which is less vulnerable to cloudy or rainy weather conditions, at a low recurring expense.  SuperDirect service will now be available in South Asia, South East Asia, Central Asia, the Far East, and the Middle East.

With over 16 years of experience, Supernet has deployed a number of satellite-based networks including four large GSM backhaul networks operating in Pakistan. Supernet also operates multiple VSAT hubs on different satellites to support corporate customers.

Imran Malik, CEO Supernet Limited, commented "Our VSAT network is growing at a fast pace. We needed a service that addressed the customer’s requirements of a cost effective and more resilient VSAT network.  C-band service on SuperDirect is yet another step forward to expanding the foot print of our quality services in the region."
